It was the first Evening

that I felt a moment of peace.........

after supper, was sitting in front of the fireplace, watching some tube.........and all the sudden it dawned on me...........

I wasn't jonesing...........fighting with my mind............feeling sorry for my arse..........making excuses.......

None of that garb!

For the whole evening, I just felt okay ??!!

even my spouse commented on the sh&t eating grin I had on my face (which I didn't even realize I had)

No, he** no I'm not letting my guard down, It was just nice, and VERY welcome at the end of day 10!

I needed the breather

To be at peace is a beautiful feeling. Drugs and booze is the mugs way of getting it. The peace and serenity that you can feel in recovery from alcoholism is priceless and don't come with no terrible consequences. Don't cost a penny either but it does take work.
