Hi Daphne,

I have no experience with Kudzu or hynotherapy, but I hope they work for you.

My feeling is, recovery is a 'from the inside out' kind of a thing, so I'm not sure if those things would help. Alcoholism is the symptom and it's necessary to deal with the underlying causes as well.

I have found that B vitamins are very helpful.

Hi anna
Yeh i agree I have referred myself for counselling to tackle the inside stuff. Thinking about alternatives that could work whilst I am waiting

I used hypnosis for help in quitting smoking. The only thing I got out of it was to NEVER touch a cigarette again. If you don't pick it up it won't end up in your mouth. I think we could say the same thing about alcohol. If you don't pick it up..it won't end up in your mouth! Just a thought.

That's interesting LTT.

Daphne, I had been wondering the same thing. I ordered Kudzu (cheaper online) only because it is said to help curb the urge. I am hoping it will be a good compliment to AA (which I hope to start today) and NOT drinking at home. That's my big prob- I drink even if I am not out. It's been a couple of days. I will report back after I have tried the Kudzu.

i'll watch for an update about the kudzu -- i've read about it but never saw the herb in a store

we live in the southern us & kudzu grows like crazy around here -- it's all we can do to keep it in control -- i don't know if you could do anything with the actual plant

I've never tried either method Daphne.
I too believe recovery is an 'inside job' so I think the counselling is a good idea
