What are you thankful for?
So what is it you are thankful for? It is the day to be thankful. So lets hear it.
I am so very grateful for my family. Without them I wouldnt have had a chance. I am also thankful for my SR family. You all keep me going and are always willing to lend your encouragment and support.
I am thankful I am alive and healthy and able to keep trying.
And I am so very grateful for our troops who fight to keep us safe and so we can have days like today.
Have a great day everyone.

I am thankful for my AA family and this new site. (soon to be SR brothers and sisters)
I have very little biological family left just my dad and sisters. They live far away from me up north. I am thankful to see another holiday clean/sober. Its my lucky#13!!! I am so blessed that my sponsor has been glued to me during the holiday season knowing its a rough time of year for me since most of my family have passed away around this time of year. My car got hit last week by a hit and run driver and I was actually happy about it. That easily could have been me driving the other car. I have no rides over this weekend and I am actually serene. So far I have gotten rides anywhere I need to go, no questions asked. Amazing how this program works !!! Have an amazing day everyone.

Thanks for this, Trish. So glad you are still here and kicking.
Thanks to all the residents of SR who showed me I really could pour that last drink down the drain and live again. I know I wouldn't be sitting here sober if not for you all.

I'm thankful to be working, and that I haven't screwed this gig up by disappearing on a bender for a week. I have to work this weekend, but at least I can cut the work to when my boys are in bed asleep and it doesn't have to invade our time together.
I'm thankful that my boys have a sober dad.
I'm thankful I'm not sick to my stomach anymore and I feel like eating... Though I'm not too happy about the inflating spare tire around my middle.

Although Thanksgiving has already passed in Canada, it's always a good day to think about what I'm thankful for.
I'm grateful for my family - for their support and love.
I'm grateful for new beginnings.
I'm grateful that I have food to eat, a bed to sleep in, daughters who love me, dogs who adore me, cats who tolerate me.
Have a great day everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate today.

Thanks for the thread Trish, It's great seeing you here and well.
I am grateful for being sober today. Having my life back and my children here with me. I am grateful for the people I have met in the rooms of AA and those I have met here. I am grateful that I no longer dread the day, today I choose to rejoice and be grateful for each and every sober day.
I will never forget those who have served and continue to serve our country, risk their lives so that we may live in freedom and peace. God bless each and every one of them.
Wishing each and every one of you a very Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for:
being clean/sober 'just for today'.
a wonderfully mellow, super cool and my BFF girlfriend.
a family that has forgiven my past unruly addiction fueled behavior.
the county mental health clinic for offering an addiction treatment program that honnors my non-theistic beliefs and believes in me.
all the neat peps here at SR that have enriched my recovery...you guys are the best.
(((Trish)))
I have so much to be grateful for, I could go on and on, but I'll try to keep it short
I'm grateful for -
- the fact that you are here, and so are so many of my wonderful SR family
- I'm about to take Brit, my niece to my stepsister's for dinner, dad and stepmom will join us later. We get to spend the afternoon playing with my younger niece and nephew
- I'm clean
- I have a job - not very HAPPY with it, but I have one
- roof over my head, soft bed to sleep in with an electric blankie for those cold nights
- my furbabies - Elvis, Mots, and Patches..and the dumb dog, Tinker
- my family, who never gave up on me, but didn't enable me either
- school...giving me a chance at a career, not "just a job"
there are a lot more, and these aren't exactly in the right order, but let's just say, I'm filled-to-the-brim with gratitude today!
Hugs and prayers!

Trish, I'm thankful that you're here today to start a thread like this
I'm thankful for family and friends, and for everyone who's crossed my path on the road to recovery. If it wasn't for unconditional love, I wouldn't be here to share this.

Trish I am thankful for you being here and bringing up this topic.
I am thankful for being alive and sober.
I am thankful that the mental obsession to drink has been gone for several years now.
I am thankful for my entire family.
I am thankful for SR and all the awesome folks here.
I am thankful for the program of AA and the fellowship as well.
I am thankful for my Higher Power of my own choosing and understanding and the ability to fully accept others beliefs no matter how different thier beliefs are from mine.
I am thankful that all of my needs are met, not my wants, but my needs.
I am thankful for all the folks who have helped me along my journey.
I am thankful that today I am able to be of maximum benefit to others.
I am thankful that today I can not only see problems in my life clearly, but face them and work through them instead of drinking them away or driving myself crazy mentally worrying about them.
I am thankful today that all of my problems today no longer are fallout from all my years being a drunk, instead all of my problems are just normal problems of life.
I am simply thankful to be able to be thankful no matter what rather then sitting on a pity pot blaming others or life in general for all of my woes.
