I am a little saddened, I'd be lying if I said otherwise. Your wife gave you an ultimatum AND a reprieve, I think she doesn't understand the monkey like we do.

Ah well, I hope you've climbed off that slippery slope, and I still think your peachy keen <3

Sounds like your wife might want to learn a bit more about alcoholism.. That being said, however, your sobriety or lack thereof is not her job or business to attend to. If I kept drinking whenever anyone told me it was 'okay' to, I'd be just as drunk and worse than my last rondezvous with the detox center. I wasn't able to stay quit, until I truly wanted it for myself. I hope you get there sometime too

Welcome back from your trip.

i have been to Cancun sober and I have been drunk and its a whole lot more fun drunk, so we have crossed off the beaches of Mexico from the "to do list"! I would , now rather go to Mexico City and see ruins and museums and such!

as a side note... I do remember the all-inclusive resorts and the drinks were so weak that I would have to fortify them with my own supply that i would bring to the beach..

oh, those were the days. i came as close as one can come to alcohol poisoning down there drinking tequila...it just sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it! YIKES!

be on guard, but do enjoy!

I groaned when I read about the drinks being too weak because because at the last wedding I was at, just a few months ago, the drinks were also very weak. It was open bar, so I, of course, figured out if you just skipped the mixer, you could get just straight booze and go back as often as you want. I went around and shared my discovery with everyone. Somehow, no one else decided to follow my lead. I still didn't get enough to drink, and the hotel was in a remote location with no bars around when the wedding ended, so it was a very frustrating evening. I rectified this by getting blackout drunk the next night and sleeping with my contacts in.

I'm glad you're back at SR and back in the programme Fub.

Everyone, if we could not turn this into a vacation 'war stories' thread? I'd appreciate it - we never know what might someone else uncomfortable to read.
