Day60Observations
Day60Observations
Day sixty today without abusing any substance (caffeine and nicotine excepted). I feel good in general. Have not made any stupid decisions. Have heard it from others and it happened today out of nowhere.... That on day 30, 60 and other key anniversary days that cravings kick in. Wasn't sure how many days I had today when I had cravings this morning upon waking up. It was basically a flashback to lost weekends when I would party for the whole weekend. My specific craving was wanting to crack open a bottle of red
wine and party with party people. Resisted, went grocery shopping and felt the pull of the liquor department. Decided to take my blood pressure at the pharmacy instead. It worked (was it my hp that I've tried to surrender to?). Not sure, but I'm on a mission to clean my apartment and have a constructive day. Thanks to everyone who posts here and whoever created this website. It has become an invaluable part of my non-drinking lifestyle. Humble on day 60 this time.... And my longest perion of sobriety that I can recall since I discovered Dad's liquor cabinet at 16.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things, EW. Perhaps there is something to be said for the anniversaries.... I'm on day 26 and had been doing pretty well until today.
Maybe I'll folow your lead and clean a bit!
Thanks for sharing.

Great job Elegantly Wasted! I am behind you by quite a few days but will make it to 60 this time (and many more). Taking my blood pressure daily has kept me on track - go figure it would take that to get me to finally quit!
That's wonderful Elegantly Wasted
on ur 60 days. This site has been
an awesome tool used in my recovery.
It's been a great place to open up
with, share with, be a part of a
fellowship and recovery family.
I can share my my ups and down
here. My joys and sorrows. Just
to have this website as my life
line to recovery.
SR is always here for me.
It's so comforting to know that
I never have to go through any-
thing by myself again. I never
have to figure out anything
by myself alone either.
Thank you Elegantly Wasted for
being here for me as well as SR.
You are much appreciated to this
alcoholic.

I use to get antsy on milestones too. Not that I got too far anyway. But still I did. I dont know why. So now I dont count days. I dont even know when I stopped. I just know a round about time frame.
I stopped counting for that very reason. It was stressful for me and added more pressure.
I think its great that you are being active and doing things to keep you occupied. That helps a great deal IMO.
Hang in there. Your doing good.
Thanks everyone!!! On day 61 and no cravings... Day 60 was was evil, cunning and mysterious. Thanks for the pic Cubile... Made me smile. And thanks for all the posts guys. This sight and all the great people that make it work has become an important part of what I do, I learn, stay focused and hope I have contributed something as well.
