30 days - what have I learned?
1. I have learned how to sleep through the night and the benefits of waking up clear-headed.
2. I have learned that there are other things to do at night besides getting wasted.
3. I have learned that I can just as easily alienate people when I am sober and that I need to work on that.
4. I have learned that evening plans are easier when you’re not planning them around drinking.
5. I have learned that my marriage still has hope.
6. I have learned that my kids still think I’m cool.
7. I have learned about this community and found immeasurable support and unconditional acceptance in its posts.
8. I have learned that, despite my problems, there are so many others struggling with addiction that make mine absolutely pale in comparison.
9. I have learned how lucky I was to be pulled over the other day for speeding and only feel inconvenienced.
10. I have learned that I’m better off without drinking and that I’ll be fine.
Thanks to all.

Thank you for sharing that. Sometimes I get so caught up in things it's hard to really acknowledge the many benefits of remaining sober, esepecially in times of stress when my head starts talking.
Congratulations on the 30 days!!!!

My normal inclination was to address my feelings after I'd been drinking, which never, ever worked.
