Vegibean The Lawn Mowing Extraordinaire!!!

Now that I have a yard to mow...........OMG!!! For all you guys out there, I give you props. I know through the history of men and women that has always been the "man's job" and I just did the front yard. I took three breaks while I did it because I thought I was going to die, LOL!!! I am really out of shape.

Great exercise.

All the while I'm mowing and really pushing myself because it has to get done, I kept thinking about how I would much rather mow my own lawn than go back to my old life. I really didn't get the best of husbands where my X is concerned but I would rather mow lawns everyday for the rest of my life than go back............he was a big, big trigger for me. I was so miserable in that marriage, I nearly drank myself to death over all the crap I felt......or didn't feel.

So glad my life has changed!! *****!!!!!!!!

It really means a lot to me when I look back and in the program and in recovery you hear a lot, "if nothing changes, nothing changes." Everything in my life has changed and while some of it is still a drag (like my new found lawn mowing career) I'm happy and grateful.

See? All I need is a yard, a lawn mower and this paddle ball game........and that's all I need. *SIGH*

I know what you mean: I'd rather be alone and have to do it all myself...

You crack me up vegi..LOL
Mowin in that hot Florida sun calls for lots of breaks and lots of ice water..LOL
But it does feel rewarding I am sure.
Its funny the things that make us reflect on our life and make us grateful for the simple little things..Like mowing the lawn.
I did that alot when I was mopping floors in my POS job last year. I may not be making much money and have a crap job. But at least I had one and I was clean.
And I dont think I was ever so happy to mop a floor in my life.
Great post. Keep trucking sista! Or should I say mowing. LOL

There is nothing quite like the sense of achievement that comes with that first sober lawn mowing. Congratulations.

Seriously I'm glad to hear you have a lawn to mow and it is wonderful to hear how happy you are.

I had a question for you but.....I'll just get in line behind Dee.
