recovering from a crisis that began at 2:30 am and escalated from there....both my son and I need help...I called a psych today and set up an appt for me - need to get my **** together before I can help my son. me-drugs him-alcohol . When he drinks, he is OUT OF CONTROL, don't know how to handle. Any suggestions? Just needed to vent....

I am so glad to hear that you are taking steps to help yourself and your son. Calling for a psych appointment is a big step towards healing. If you are trying to stop taking drugs, have you talked to your dr? It's best to get a drs advice on how to detox. And, you are so right, you do need to take care of yourself before you can help your son.

Hello, and welcome.

Good luck with the appt and congratulations on reaching out as everyone else has mentioned. Is your son also going to get some help, is he thinking along the same lines as you?
