So it's probably bad

When I go three weeks without a drink, then drink one day and decide to drink like I did three weeks ago.

And slightly over halfway through it I start dry heaving into the sink, tears streaming down my face, and all I can think is "stick it out, this'll be done in a bit. Less than ten minutes, then you can go back to your drinking"

Thumbs up for being very smart.

It's really not all that fun.

I just got banned from two message boards.

I was telling myself that "hey, you are having a heck of a time being social with people, better have a couple drinks"

Now I'm throwing up in the sink and getting banned from message boards.
And people on here won't even talk to me, they're just like "..seen it, many times. grow the f*ck up and get back to us. We're busy being sober, and don't wand your kind around here."

Which of course just makes me mad, because I'm so smart.

Ugh.

Hey Anodyne - I want to welcome you back. Yep, I get you are under the influence right now. Yep, boy can I relate to what you are going through.
Hope you have the courage to sober up and come back. I see you joined in 2006. Well so did I. Had many experiences that you described. I am trying again. I now have about eight weeks sober. Your post is a reminder of something that I do not want to do again.

Please keep reaching out. Keep posting. If you decide to stop drinking, please get some medical help. Alcohol withdrawals are nothing to play around with.

Hope to get to know you better.

Hey Anodyne, nice to see ya back here. You and I are like SR alumni from the Class Of Nov. 2006

Now as for this comment people on here won't even talk to me, they're just like "..seen it, many times. grow the f*ck up and get back to us. We're busy being sober, and don't wand your kind around here." it really doesn't have much to do with growing up. I didn't "get it" until I was 40 and I'd given up everything that was worth anything to me.

Yep, I've seen it many times, and sadly the ending isn't very pretty sometimes. I think we're happy to talk to you, and as long as you keep reaching out for support there'll be good people here who will help.

So how about it? Are you ready to do this deal?

Ugh.
That is not how we are here.
Not at all.
When you want help- to stop drinking and you are really done, you will be AMAZED at the support and help you will find here.
In the meantime, you will still get encouragement and friendship.
This deal is not easy.
I think we get that. I get that.
Ugh, I could not IMAGINE going an entire week without drinking.
Are you CRAZY?????
So, do not despair.
You can be happy too. You just need to do some work.
Oh yeah, and put down the drink. lol
Welcome!!!!!!

Hey Anondyne,

We are here and we are offering all the support we can. That's what we do here.

God knows, it's hard to stop drinking and many of us have been where you are now.

Keep trying, don't give up! You can do this!
