I think I'm addicted to Lortab!!

I've been taking lortab 10's for about 3 years, 5 daily. There not perscribed to me. It started when working in a Nursing home as a CNA, very physical work! My back hurt, my legs hurt. I took lots of advil, helped some! My husband gave me a lortab...oh what a wonder pill, I felt no pain, I had energy, and my mind even felt clearer!....Now I'm wanting more and more. I want to stop taking them. Yesterday I only had 2, I didn't sleep very much at all. Today I've had 1 and a half, saving the other half for later.....Please give me advise to help me stop....Thanks!

Hi and welcome to SR, Im glad you signed up. I would talk to my doctor about it and get his help to find the most painless way to get off of them. You could also check out a Narcotics Anonymous meeting in your area and talk to people with the same problem. Good luck!

Your definitely in the right place. There's alot of help and advice on here. If you have been taking 5 a day for 3 years, it's a problem. Go to your doctor, and tell him what's going on. He will give you some advice, or the right medication to help you get off of the Lortab. I have been there, done that, and don't worry. You will be alright. And don't worry about the loss of sleep, because nobody ever died from lack of sleep. You have to really want it, and you have to work at it. I had medication to help from my doctor, and then did it on my own. Good Luck to you, sounds like your on your way.

Welcome to SR...

You have come to the right place...There is much wisdom and support here, and great friends...

As others have suggested, seek medical attention...

I understand your concern and possible fear...I went through two years of very heavy addiction...I was prescribed 240 percocet a month and close to the end, I would run through them in a week in a half...Yes, it only gets worse. I would drink to help me get through the tough times until the next script, or buy them off the street... I have been clean of that addiction three years...

Keep posting, you can do this with medical attention, and a good support system...
