Thumbs up TOPIC: Cell Phone Connection to Newcomers. What Do You Use?

Hi im Sharon and Im an alcoholic.

As you know in todays time cell
phones are pretty popular and
very useful for everyday life.

Back in 1958 i dont think cell
phones were a glimmer in any
ones eyes....are were they?

I know with all the new technology,
available today, there's no
excuse to keep in touch with
ur sponsor, friend, newcomer,
family, work...etc.

So....what is ur favorite cell
phone today to stay in touch
with folks?

I have a Motorola with Verizon
and will upgrade later this yr.

Since i LOVE red....ill be looking
for a red one with huge numbers
to see and punch or touch with
loud volume for hearing well....lol

Im not getting younger u know...lol

I have a nice Verizon phone, have had it four years now and don't want another one. They keep trying to get me to get a new one every two years, but I like the one I have.

I don't feel as nervous driving anywhere cause I have my phone with me in case of trouble.

I have a Samsung Glyde, the thing frustrates the heck out of me The touch screen always seems to malfunction, probably cuz I have fat fingers! Seems to take ten times as long to make a call or text than my old Nokia. Too many bells and whistles, I'd be happy with a World War II field phone. Lol.

My company pays for it though, so I'm grateful just to have the use of it.

I have a Verizon Blackberry 8830 World edition. It's great for being able to make phone calls from anywhere in the world. (back when I HAD a job I used to do some international travel.) The keys are very VERY small and hard to work with, but it's a full QWERTY keyboard. I like that I can get my emails and respond to them when away from my desk, but I can't really use the keys to make a phone call. The good news is that all of the address book goes into the voice dial mode, so all I would do is push a button and say "Call Astro at Work" and he'd get the call ! LOL

I doubt I'll need all the bells and whistles by the time I get my next phone, so I'm interested to see what responses you get here

I want to get one with a full keyboard and camera.

Thumbs up

I did away with my land line years
ago and dont miss it except i like
the old timey phones. I use to win
all sorts of stuff on the wall push
button phone yrs ago.....well I
should go back when they had
dial up....id win stuff the old
neanderthal way too.....

Another good reason i dont miss
the land line is I dont have those
pesky solicitors and wrong
numbers.

Anyway.....I do enjoy the easy
access of the phone today to
reach people in case of emergencies.

Or if u feel like ur at the end of
ur rope at the grocery store or
at a stop light.....u can call
ur sponsor or a friend in the
program for some much needed
advice to calm down before
ud reach for a drink or drug.

No cell phone for me. I don't want to be that easy to get a hold of.
I have call display so no telemarketers reach me. I only answer if I know who is calling.
I love my land line with call display, call answering, and 500 mins long distance for $26 a month.

This is the phone I have, but only because it was cheap when we switched to TMobile.
Its hard to text on though. I'm thinking of buying a used Sidekick pretty soon because I text alot.

I have a Samsung something or other. LOL. And my provider is Cricket. Back in active addiction, I racked up my t-mobile bill well over 300 bucks trying to stay in contact with my sponsor and call people from both sides. One night was to use, the next it was to keep from using..
I like Cricket because it's 50 bucks a month, unlimited text and calling. My only beef is I can't block people's numbers. I had to actually change my phone number because a fellow NA member didn't like me asking them not to text me any more and told me to go back to smoking crack. That was the ultimate low to me and I just changed my number. It'll cost me 15 bucks I don't have, but oh well...
