Day 8
Day 8
Hi All, Just got through my first week and now on day 8, the weekend was tough but I kept myself busy with the family, went gym twice and church yesterday so I made it through.
Its 11.00am Monday morning now and I have had a s**t day already, very stressful. I work from home and need some strength to get of my backside and get to the gym rather than crack a beer !!!!

Glad you decided to come here and post instead. Drinking won't make things any better. Just pause....and don't react on impulse. Say for the next 5 minutes you won't take a drink...etc. Keep it simple. Congrats on a week! Way to go! Glad you are here.
Thank you for your support. The stupid thing is I know a beer wont make it better, but I still wanna have it!!! I used to love my morning beers when the house is empty.
Anyway I will hang here for a while, not drink, then get my backside to the gym.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Keep reaching out to others for help--that is why we are here. Exercise should also help with any "nervous" energy you may have. Just don't pick up a drink--no matter what! Keep moving forward! :atv
Marty I'm glad you came back for support. Just keep it in your head that you only need to make it through this day......just this day. Don't forget about what we talked about in relation to your little girls. They need and want you to be a sober daddy. Stay on track and stay focused ok? You can do this. I believe you can do this.

Hey Marty! Glad to hear you're doing well. I hope you're building up some sort of face to face support system. We need all the areas of support we can get, can't have too many if you ask me!
Keep posting, not just when something is wrong. The more you post, the easier it is to come on here and share what's going on with you. I wish you continuing success in your Recovery and God Bless.
