How open are you with recovery?
Trish, I concur wholeheartedly with what Laurie and Ex had to say. I interview and hire a lot of people and I always counsel my team during team interviews that you should not ask anything personal. In the day and age of overt political correctness, asking if you someone is married or has a family is inviting a lawsuit if they dont get the job. Seems like the world would rather litigate than work. HR may do a background check, but I would cross that bridge when you come to it. I don't think its jumping the gun, its something you should be looking forward to and another notch in your recovery process. You should not stop dreaming, but instead, ask yourself what kind of career you want and not get caught in the particulars of the interview. Things will fall into place according the plan, so get out there and create your destiny.
