It's my birthday weekend
So here we are. I am turning 33 this Tuesday but I'm having my birthday party this weekend. My SO is making 'Mocktails' for the party and we are having a Wii party. I am scooting right up on 60 days next week.
I can't remember a sober birthday since I was 19.
Mostly, I feel wonderful about having as much time as I do, but I'm also worried I'm not going to be able to enjoy my own birthday party because I won't be drinking!!
Thanks I just needed to put my fears out there.

I have Monday off of work to "recover" from my weekend (my bosses' words when offering it) and I am looking forward (and feel odd taking it) to actually using that Monday for more fun instead of actually using it to recover from a hangover
I'm feeling an odd sense of loss, eventhough what I have planned is just as fun, if not more so because I won't be spending the whole weekend drinking to get over the hangover from the night before.

You know our firsts are hard and they will be. This is one reason I look forward to putting a year between me and the bottle. I will then be able to approach the events and say "Ah yes, I handled that a year ago and had so much fun."
Any ways - Happy Birthday you youngster!!!
I hope you have fun. I am a tad jealous of WII owners though. I want to score a used one at some point, but the used ones aren't much cheaper then the new ones. They are a hot commodity.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! sober is way more fun. you will actually remember it, and not have to spend the next day recovering from the night, or wondering what an A$$ you made of yourself! I am 21 days sober and turned 33/ 2 months ago, I wish I was sober then!! what an a@$ I made of my self then. I walked around with a 1.75 liter bottle of gin drinking right out the bottle. that was not a fun night or morning or week.
As a matter of fact my whole alcoholic career was miserable, completely miserable!

Happy Birthday SFM!! I bet you will have fun. And then you will ask yourself why you never knew this! LOL......there really is life outside the drinking circle. Keep it light, try not to compare or look back, just have fun!! Smile because you got yourself to this wonderful, healthy point in your life!!!!!!!!! Hugs.

OMG I did need Monday to recover!!
We did so much stuff this weekend it was crazy!!
Friday we went dancing and to karaoke!
I had a great time Saturday night with my friends! A very funny stand-up comic I know came and she spent the whole night cracking up the crowd. Oddly, all of my light/non drinking friends came and only one of my heavy drinking/drunk friends came.
Mocktails ROCK! We made Faux Mojitos (from now on called FoMo's) and fruit smoothies.
Sunday we got up and made omelets then went hiking for 2 hours, then went to a movie with friends and then came home and played games with friends.
We were busy every second of the day and, needless to say, I spent a lot more time having fun than I would have drunk. By far.
