So Sleepy
So Sleepy
I am at 21 days right now, and am back to sleeping really good, but find the last 3 or 4 days that I am so tired at the end of the day that I can hardly stay awake past 9:30! Is this something to do with not drinking? Maybe I am getting too much sleep? Has this happened to any of you?

It took me about 2 months to feel back in balance
mentally and physically.
It could be PAWS....

Or perhaps a change into eating more
healthy is the way to go?
Google for an eating plan for hypoglycemia.
A multi- vitamin + B complex might help.
Well done on your sobriety!

I am also having some problems with sleeping, too much or not enough - can't just have a normal night's sleep. It does get better with time, so be patient and be strong and you'll be ok!

I think I remember sleeping more around that time. I think I was also eating more sugar and hanging out on the computer more. I needed that junk food/on-line support at the time though so no judgement on that. Congrats on your 3 weeks Eclipse! You're really doing it this time! I'm so proud of you. I'll be your sleep patterns will return to normal soon.

Hey Eclipse,
I'm now on my 2nd longest "dry-spell" (I on day 72). The first time I stopped, I could sleep like a baby after about a week. Ironically, one of the things which prolonged my drinking (in my alcohol-warped mind) was that I was worried about being able to sleep, so I just kept drinking till I passed out. Wonderful logic. Anyway, I was soon able to establish normal sleeping patterns which I guess I shouldn't have been worried about, especially if you know the men in my family.
This time I've had a bit more of a problem with sleep. I stopped drinking during summer vacation (I'm a teacher) so I was staying up late. I was getting really sleepy around 6 pm and would take a 1-2 hour "nap". Of course that would make me stay awake. Now that I'm back at work, things are coming back to normal. Unfortunately, I've been fighting a bout of gout and I've been having trouble sleeping recently. I actually started to fall asleep in a meeting yesterday (which I've never done). Luckily it was all in Japanese so I didn't catch much anyway .
If I were you, I'd give it a week or two more, then see a doc. Personally, I don't think 9:30 is too early as long as you aren't sleeping until 9:30!
Good luck.

I actually had a doctor's appt. yesterday and I gave some blood this morning (couldn't have coffe till about 9:00--that was not good!) to check liver function, cholesterol, etc. so that may give some enlightment too. I do get up at around 6:00 in the morning, so its not like I am sleeping the day away, just not used to being so tired early in the evening!
Have a great day!
