First Timer
I just thought I would drop a little line to say hello and thank you all for being here. I have about 2 1/2 years clean time, and I didn't think I had anymore "firsts" left in me, but I guess I was wrong lol. It's actually a really good feeling.
I've also realized that I may need a little extra help from time to time in this recovery process and it's nice to have found a place where I can go to read your personal experiences, find words of hope and encouragement, and where I can gain a little strength from doing so. There is a small sense of security in knowing that when my sponsor is busy and there is no meeting taking place, there is somewhere else "to go."
Thank you all again, and take care.

Glad your here em!
Yes...SR has been an important tool in my sobriety. There is always someone around, and i don't have to worry about waking up someone in the middle of the night or any of that stuff.
Cant wait to see you around the threads!:ghug3

Welcome to a great place for support and understanding. We're an international family so there's always someone on at all hours of the day and night. Glad you found us! The members here are quite lovely and very helpful. I've always felt at home here and accepted for who I am: an addict suffering from a disease and trying to stay clean and sober. With the help of my friends here I'll have seven weeks sober tomorrow!
Parts of this recovery journey have been hard, but knowing I have a safe place to go, with friends I like, makes it easier to stay sober.
I'm sure you'll like being a part of this family! Welcome!

Hey Em,
7 weeks! Congratulations! I can't wait to say that! Each day is such a blessing! There is no way I could have done it without the wonderful people here at SR. Their support, guidance and inspiration is second to none. Welcome and keep coming back!
