Yes we all felt like that...but the consequences of drinking are too high of a price to pay. In the end for me, my high lasted but 15 minutes before I was hammered...I was drinking straight out of the bottle....there was no pleasure anymore. It gets worse not better.

After I quit drugs two years ago, cycling was my big savior.I did every cycling event that I could and I got pretty good.Recently I have had health issues that's kept me of the bike.Even yesterday when I relapsed, the only reason I gave my self the 'go ahead' was that I had a cold and could not cycle in anyway,I might as well drink, how stupid is that???.

it's stupid and typical...the voice won. It convinced you to drink...drinking is easier...fighting the voice is hard...been there done that! LOL
The good news is that you have the power to change this...identifying what is happening inside your brain is key.

I hate how I convince myself that I do not have a problem.I mean how can I have a problem when I do not have to do it for long periods of time.I sometimes think it would be easier if I drank each day then I could say,"Yes I have a problem,I drink every day"

It's not about how often we drink but what happens when we drink. I too could go days without a drink but when I let go I was drinking out of the bottle in the car on the way home cause I couldn't wait to pour in in a glass.
If you think you have a problem with alcohol, you probably do. "Normal" social drinkers never wonder if they have a problem or not. I'm glad you're here. The support here is fantastic! Welcome!
