new to this site.
Hi. I’m new to this, just wanted to say hello. I’m having a pretty rough time staying sober so I thought anything would help. I've had a little sober time b4. Most of it was dry time. I got everything back that I thought I wanted and lost it all again. I’m just restarting my first step. I’m getting use to going to meeting. I think my first introduction to AA was when I was 15. I’m so sick of the alcoholic roller coaster. I want nothing more to stay sober, pay my bills and not to cause my friends and family grief.. I’ve read the big book over and over, I know it but I still end up somehow end up drinking and thinking I can stop or I’m just a normal drinker. I really need this to be the last time I get sober.

Hi Bullheaded and welcome to SR.
I found it is important to stay in touch with other alcoholics, find out once and for all the exact nature of the disease and to seek a spiritual solution by doing the steps in the programme. With all those three elements, you have a really good chance of getting through this time.
We do recover. You can too. The only necessities are honesty, openness and willingness.
All the best to you.
Steph

Welcome to the site, Bull. This is a great place for support and encouragement. It's helped me stay sober for 31 days now. The people here are wonderful and so loving.
I wish you all the best in quitting drinking. If I can make it this far, so can you!

The computer age has done alot for many things...for me most importantly this forum!! SR is always open and always ready to listen to your thoughts. I spent hours a day here in my first couple weeks of sobriety.
