Cool New to site

This is my first post but I responded to a post 7/4. I am enjoying my new life so far. I could use suggestions about tolerance of others who do not understand the alcoholic. Seems like I have recently been around alot of this lately. I am sure this is part of my growth by God's will but I clam up instead of responding inappropriately. I obsesse over it and I am sure the other party is not thinking twice about it.

I know that I too was once very ignorant to understanding alcoholism, I had plenty of misconceptions, I felt that anyone with a problem should 'just quit drinking', I had little or no tolerance for problem drinkers.

Knowing I was once that way makes it easier for me to accept it in others.

Keep coming back, stick to YOUR program, don't worry about those who do not understand.

welcome!!!

glad you're enjoying your new life so far..........(and it will just keep getting better!)

I got a little confused by your post and Tommy's response - you can't tolerate others who drink or you don't like when others can't tolerate what you've been through.

or is that the same thing. lol. ok, I'm trying to be supportive here, just a little sleepy 'cause it's Sat.....

I think it's really hard for others to understand alcoholics.

For me, I come here because this is a place where people 'get it'.
