New here but not to recovery
New here but not to recovery
Hi all,
I didn't really know where to post my introductory post, so I figured this would be as good a place as any.
I've been in recovery for over 10 years now. Life is still an up and down ride but fortunately much more doable than it used to be.
I went to AA for the first 5 years on an obsessive basis. Then it just stopped working for me.
Now I stay on the spiritual path and try to do the best that I can.
Anyway, was thrilled to see this forum and to join.
Thanks for being here.

Welcome! You sound like an inspiration as I have found with others here. Its always nice to have more inspirational people to call upon. I'm only 10 days sober and so I have a long road to travel yet, but I'm on my way. Glad you're here with us.
Well, thanks all.
I've been looking for a place of like minded people. Looks like I found it. So nice to have such a warm welcome!
My story isn't that much different than anyone elses. Started drinking when I was 15 years old and loved it from the get go.
Fast forward 20 years later and I was desparately trying to quit... again. Found AA and really committed to the program. Through a series of miracles I am still sober today.
That's about it in a nutshell.
Today I read a lot a spiritual material and write about it a lot. One place I do this is on my blog. Other than that, I try to be of service in whatever capacity I can.
Thanks again for such a warm welcome.
