I'm pretty sure my two dogs are 'glad' I'm sober now. All they know is that they get a good walk every day and are fed on time. I'm staying sober for myself but it helps to know I'm taking better care of my dogs now.

my ex takes care of them like they are her real children, i don't need to worry about that at all....she was devastated when she was 150+ miles away and I was drinking because our "boys" were not being taken care of. but she can stay overnight places...i need to go
