First Time

I am new to this site and really just have a lot of questions and things I just plain don't understand. My husband is a recovering alcoholic, he just got his 90 day chip...I am so proud of him...but as his wife I have no experience with the recovery part just the actual addiction..we have been married for 8 years now with the alcoholism consuming most of them. He has quit drinking before but this time he seems truly committed to his sobriety. He is the child of an alcoholic so he has dealt with this his whole life. I truly feel I have been fully supportive of his sobriety, he has just now started going to aa meetings--this is his first week...but sitting on the sidelines is hard for me...it seems like he has returned to the man he is when he is drinking...the man I have tried for years to make peace with...the only difference is when he IS drinking he realizes what an a**hole he is being...now he doesn't.. I get the blame for everything imaginable and then some...and I don't know how to handle it or where to turn...he's threatening to leave me and our three kids and I just don't know what to do or how to act...it seems like no matter what I do or how I do it-it's still wrong....it's funny because I survived him drinking, but now I wonder if I can survive the recovery...

Bewildered when an alcoholic is practicing or is in recovery there are others who need recovery as well, the freinds and family. Check out Alanon.
