Yeah Ro... I was like WTF. Hubby couldn't believe it either. I (we) would never *knowingly* send any of my kids to a party or school especially... sick. Or even the onset of illness. Some parents around here are just like that. I stayed out with the poor thing and played some arcade games with her for a while till the laser part was over. I knew she was sick... I've been around her on class trips and she's always very excited about everything. Today... not.
Goofy movie sounds fun. We have Sunday school and 5 pm mass so not much time for fun in between there but maybe we'll fit something in. The weather here is getting cool but I think it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow... maybe go to a flea mkt or something.
Speaking of goofy movies... Borat is on right now lol!

Did you start your starter for the next baking project?
Just in for a few minutes then out to get 2 kids from and drop one off at Sunday school. Probably waste some time at the grocery store in between. If Mr. Tears can get dressed sometime this morning we might still have a shot at going somewhere this afternoon!!! Otherwise I may just make some pasta sauce. I have this strange hankering for bolognese ?!

Hi everyone,
Picked up my daughter from her birthday sleepover - the father of the girl who had her birthday is a major a**hole - I didn't realize to what extent until today. My daughter tells me that he spent the evening telling the girls to 'shut up!' and kept making derogatory jokes about his daughter in front of her friends. He also refused to not smoke in the house, and said 'So?' when told one girl had asthma. He wasn't even there when I picked up my daughter - left them with a sitter. Nice! I'll kill him if I see him again.
So - my daughter and I went to see Superbad with some girlfriends of mine but left 5 minutes after it started - it was BEYOND crude - I couldn't let my girl sit through that. So we went shopping! Spent money that I don't have right now but to hell with it we deserved it and bought a few nice things.
My poor kid. I still may call that man. Don't know yet. Need to calm down.

Hang in there Rob... you're going through a rough period right now. You're always welcome to post. I think SR and any other form of recovery you use is important to continue right now.
Ro... did you end up calling the guy? What an A-hole he was. I've found that people like that don't take criticism... or even suggestions well. I don't know if talking to him would make you feel better or possibly worse if he goes all assholey on you. Was the mother home? I guess not if there was a sitter when you went to get your daughter? That's a shame... sleepovers are usually fun for kids. Not so much for moms with a house full already

So Superbad was that bad eh? Sounds like our kind of movie. We'll wait to watch on DVD though... doesn't sound like the kind of movie we need to see on the big screen and shell out big $$'s for.
Quiet shout out to everybody just checking in. I'm cutting back on my caffiene and have a slight headache. CT on Friday no coffee. Cheated yesterday by having a cup of white tea (*way* less caffiene) & am having one now as well.

OH and GM Gyps - no the parents are split Daddy was deemed the better parent and thus got custody - no more sleepovers! And you're right it wouldn't help to call him he'd likely get all assholey on me. So anyway.
Good luck with cutting back on the caffeine. I had one coffee this morning, but brought in some indian spice tea - non caff - for the rest of the day. I get major headaches when I cut out coffee - my hat's off to ya!

mom is ok, she is recovering nicely from her surgery but she has vertigo, so she's pretty dizzy. it was hard to leave there yesterday. but i had to come back to my home office eventually...thanks for asking!
