All I Really Need To Know

I have this hanging above my desk. I just wanted to share it today...

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN

* Share everything.

* Play fair.

* Don't hit people.

* Put things back where you found them.

* Clean up your own mess.

* Don't take things that aren't yours.

* Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.

* Wash your hands before you eat.

* Flush.

* Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

* Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

* Take a nap every afternoon.

* When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together.

* Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

* Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we.

* And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

Ya know, I think I forgot every one of those things when I picked up my first drink. 27 years later, it's good to be alive, clean and sober.

Thanks for sharing k!

My mom always made our playdoh -- she wasn't going to waste her money on the real stuff. Plus, when we ate it, because we always did, at least she knew what was in it! I remember it being very salty. Of course, I did eat sand as a child. A strange one I was. I remember that I liked sand. Very.....gritty. I may still be strange but at least I'm in good company.

when i was a baby, we lived in spain. i scraped and ate the wall paint (a lot of the babies did there for some reason)...

we're sure it was lead based. that might explain a few things?

Just stay away from those 'baby ruth bars' that you sometimes find in the sandbox!

I guess my teeth aren't strong enough. I couldn't ever get the sand actually crunch. It was more like grind....
