2 Years
Hello everyone It's been a long time since I've posted or even been here. But I wanted to come on and say I've been sober just over 2 YEARS now!!! It doesn't seem that long at all but I'm so happy to still be clean.
It's been so easy up until a few weeks ago. My co-workers all drink. They like to go to the bar next door after work. We even had a meeting there with a business partner one Friday. I'm always the only one drinking soda or water. No one seems to understand that I DON'T DRINK. I've never come right out and said "I'm an alcoholic. That is why I don't drink". But geez...I think I've made it pretty clear in other ways. I have come right out and said I don't drink because once I start I have a hard time stopping. They still always ask me if I'm going to drink "this time".
I don't even want to GO to the bar with them but sometimes I feel it's important for me to go because in our business a lot of people drink and I need to get used to it. I honestly don't feel tempted to have that drink, it's just uncomfortable for me to always have to refuse. Why can't they just let it go? Isn't it obvious why I don't drink?
I even have a client that twice has brought me in bottles of booze! Unfreakinbelievable! I gave them to co-workers. Hello! Another clue people!
Anyway, I'm going to look around here because there are a few people I remember and want to see how they're doing. Such as Nogard, Autumn and Richie. Hope everyone is well.

Hello Lively;
Congratulations on your sober time! That's wonderful. Eventually the people you know will quit wondering, they'll just except that fact that you just don't drink.
Congrats again and Brightest Blessings!!

Congratulations on 2 years.
I still have trouble with people around me also wanting me to join them in catching a buzz either with drugs or alcohol.
I think its great that you can go out and not drink even though people are pushing you.
You should be extremely proud of yourself!
