Question Gary Ross' 7 day program?

I came across this article online tonight about a seven day program. They want $47. If anyone knows anything about this program, good or bad, I would like to know.
Thanks,
Fred

Welcome Fred.

7 days to what? Fuller more beautiful hair Okay, I kid, but in all honesty if this is 7 days to a more sober you, I would have to say buyer beware. It takes more than 7 days to achieve sobriety. For me, it is a long term achievement. Maybe you could tell us a little bit more about your situation. I'm glad you are here.

I teach English as a foreign language and I often have a bit of a "dirty" pleasure by going into bookstores to look at all the products that promise to have you speaking a language fluently in 30 days (yes, you can call me a geek........now). Sometimes I even buy one just to see what type of tripe they espouse.

Any quick-fix scheme should be viewed with a large amount of scepticism. Very little that is worthwhile is achieved without a significant amount of effort.

Take care.

If it seems like it's too good to be true, then it usually is.
Thanks for your responses and the welcome. I am glad I found SR....I think I might stand a chance this time with everyone's support. My 4 & 7 year old daughters need me to get my act together.

Hi, Fred. Welcome to SR!

Yup, I had to learn the hard way that there is no *drive-thru* recovery. It's a slow but infinitely rewarding process. And you know what? AA meetings are FREE!

What's the name of the program? I spent $47 on wine without hesitation. So tell us more about it?

The title of the book is the same name as this thread, Don.

It also claims to help you make tons of money. it claims to work on the DNA of addiction (wow! Someone tell the DNS scientists still looking for it). If a person can make so much money working this guys program, why does the author need to charge 47 bucks for an ebook?

Quitting many drugs including alcohol will take more than 7 days to get your system back to normal. This is a scam.

Interesting--I couldn't find anything by googling it. I think for $47 one could easily buy Sober for Good, by Anne M. Fletcher, Sex, Drugs, and Chocolate, by A. Thomas Horvath, and maybe even 7 Weeks to Sobriety.
And as mentioned above, all recovery programs that I know of are free and most have great literature available.
Here's a link you might find useful; lots of reading material!AA alternatives and other resources
I'd like to work on my DNA! All I've figured out how to do so far is recombine it.

There are also some good books by Albert Ellis you could buy with that 47 bucks and actually make some changes in your life...and like Don S said, meetings are always free whether AA or Secular
