Class of April 2024 Support Thread Part One
Hello. I'm not quit yet, but I'm planning on it. I found a recovery program called "Dharma Recovery." They have a meeting here and I'm excited about attending.
I quit drinking a long time ago, now I'm here for other substance.
I'm alone aside from my pup.

I went to an AA meeting this evening. I don't go on a regular basis I think tonight was my second one this year. Would I drink this weekend if I didn't go? Probably not. At AA meetings you will meet people who have been quit for years and they can motivate you to get where they are. You will also more then likely meet a new quitter and even if they quit yesterday they can help you. I have been quit 9 months and after listening to the newcomer tonight I know I don't want to be there again.

Pledging for day 13, unlucky for some? Not me, not today. I WILL go to bed sober. Funny how some days you just know it will work. But I know tomorrow will be tricky when my sister leaves. Staying close to here in the run up.

Morning all
Great to wake up sober and hangover free on day 6. I could not have done it without the support of al you guys yesterday so
Listae - your post is amazing and beautiful.
Enjoy your new space Ales
CH - we also have much work needs doing but the cost is ridiculous. I remember a new kithcen used to be about 5k not it's more 30k minimum
Sal - hope you're ok today.
No work today. Loads of housework to do. Then going to watch the new Gillian Anderson film on NF.
HOpe everyone has a great day

Welcome to SR and the monthly class
I’d really like to move on - yesterday was a tough day for me and Anna too.
Let’s recoup and refocus on support

I'd really like to move on, too. Let's get back to helping each other.

I'm on Olanzapine too. It's the only mental health med that I've liked. I hope you get a break from the paranoia.
Day 23. I’m committing to 24 more sober hours with you all. I think Fridays are difficult for most of us (especially early in recovery). But similar to Sal - I know I am not going to pick up today and will absolutely hit the pillow sober tonight. Busy day ahead at work today and am taking the family to the orchestra tonight. ODAAT. I won’t be picking up that first drink today.
Congrats on day 6 RAL and welcome Sparkly Unicorn.
Have a great day all

Basset, Earlier on in my drinking, I'd have agreed that Fridays were a trigger. Then it became a normal thing to drink all the time. No triggers needed. I'm glad I'm beyond that now. I'm in for another sober weekend.
Thanks for the well wishes RAL! Hope you have a good sober Friday too!
Lovely to meet you, SparklyUnicorn. s ❤️
Morning all. Better sleep last night. I have a doctor’s appointment this morning with fasting labs, and absentmindedly ate the rest of an orange from Daughter’s breakfast. Not sure if that will be enough to mess with the results, but I will mention it and see what doctor says. I can always get the labs drawn over the weekend. It was a good orange!
Have a great day everyone.
