Questions for everyone:
I bought very expensive whiskies 2 days ago. I binged 2 bottles but I still have a bottle remaining. I know I should dump it but its so hard to do that. I spent a lot of my own hard earned money on it so I don't know... 😞. What should I do with the bottle? Don't worry I wont drink it anytime soon. My stomach is ruined.
Let's say I get the urge to drink again, What can I use as a substitute? Coffee? A cigarette? Or just wait for the feeling to pass?

If you cant find someone to give it away to immediately, I'd would dump it.
You could look at it as a waste of money - or as an investment in your sober future.

As for replacements - a lot of people go for sugary things, especially as am immediate response to cravings.
Its not healthy but its temporary - and its less bad than cigarettes or too much coffee.

Dumping it def the best option. If you dont drink you have no need of booze in the house😀👍

Booze in the house is the worst. I should know, I did something incredibly stupid yesterday and I am so ashamed of myself. I wish I could go back and analyze my thoughts at the time to find out where it went wirong, I need to learn to control myself. I will give it one more try, to get things under control. If not, I have to take action and bring in the huge artillery.

Sorry to hear that Lixie.
I don't know what the big artillery is exactly but why not bring it in now - you're fighting for yourself after all?

Sorry to hear things are difficult liz.

Ff why not look on this as a positive thing and take the help offered. What's the alternative. More water more lying seizures death. Harsh maybe but true nonetheless

Dee, they'll take my driver's license if I do. It is so incredibly stupid, because if I don't admit to having a problem and continue drinking, nothing happens. But if I tell them I need to stop - and actually manage to stay sober, they'll take it. Makes no sense. But, that is in essence the reason I don't pull out the big guns, because I need the car for my business.

Good morning all. Day 12 here. Just had my 2nd straight Thursday night sitting in a bar with my wife. It's where we go before music rehearsals on Thursday night. I had club soda and the world didn't come to an end. It is interesting to watch how fast the conversation of others gets loud. In my own mind, I just keep playing the tape. I've tried it all and it never ends well. Something to be avoided.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Booze in the house is bad news for me - bourbon actually. There could be vodka, gin, tequila- I wouldn’t touch any of that. Good job getting it out of the house Hello Fellow Kids.

Almost out of cigarettes and I can't afford more. Probably a good idea to quit anyway. Vaping is fine.

I poured the entire bottle down the drain Sobertoday54. I didn't want to embarass myself going around asking people to take the bottle. Easy to dispose the empty bottle itself. I know its a waste of money and whisky, but it had to be done.

FF does coffee do it for you? Coffee has worked well instead of cigs for me (of course within limit).

Bob, well done on Day 12.

Hellofellowkids, you did the right thing in pouring out the alcohol. Not keeping alcohol in the house has made my life simpler.
