24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 539
I'm so inspired by the posts in this thread, those with long term sobriety and those in the early stages. Those in the early stages remind me of how some days are a struggle and those with long term sobriety give me hope. Thank you to all!
Thankful for my sober days (a prime 43!) and praying for 24 more hours...

Another 24 for me please.
I’ll take another 24 please, got to keep my name on the list ☺️
Bobbi, 9 years, congratulations and wow. That’s an inspiration, much needed…
Day 10 draws to a close here in a murky, autumnal Midlands.
Sober, showered and on my bed in comfy pjs feeling a bit more relaxed than I have done recently.
Trying to stay busy, mowed what passes for my “lawn”, went shopping and spent more than I meant to (but less than I would on booze and I got a weeks worth of provisions plus extras).
Tinkered with my rusty old Land Rover which has been off the road for over a year, got her running and bought insurance so I can drive her down for an MOT and see what the damage is 😳
My oldest (and just about only) friend came over for a few hours, drank tea and chatted.
Tomorrow I’m off work and going for a walk in Derbyshire Peak District with my ex girlfriend and her dogs, very anxious about how that’s going to be. She says just as friends and that’s fine but I haven’t seen her for months and it’s going to be a mixed bag of emotions I think. Just need to go gently and take the day as it comes.
Washing machine head is at its finest right now, I think I need to speak to my doctor and re order my antidepressants which I gave up on about 6 months ago. Not keen on taking them but they do level me out.
Anyway, that’s a long rant so I’ll leave it there and thanks everyone for being here😌
Gotta keep doing the next right thing, one thing at a time….
Peace and love
James
