24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 534
🛳👋👋🛳 Bye Carnival Panorama …. See ya in March ….we cruise again when our son, Mark, is working on this ship (part of the Fun Squad Team). We introduced ourselves to the Cruise Director. Of course, he knows Mark comes onboard next month. He was a nice young man too!
Actually, every single crew member was super nice, kind, helpful & friendly! We were only at 50% guest capacity, so lots more employees than what was needed (in our view). BUT, we were so happy they got to come back to work. Unemployed for what 15 months or so?? Very relaxing, just what Ken & I needed. ❤️❤️
The kitty’s are purring happily that their Momma is home ….
Count me in for 24 more ..

So glad you had a lovely holiday Barbieken! Sounds lovely.
Hope everyone is keeping well. I’m so looking forward to having a quiet Sunday. I’ve been out every day and evening since Wednesday and I’m not used to it!! I feel shattered. It’s been absolutely fantastic catching up with old friends but I honestly don’t know how I used to socialise non stop whilst drinking. I’ve been sipping Diet Coke and getting good sleep the last 4 nights and I still feel exhausted. Not sure how I socialised like this when I was drunk and/or hungover all the time. Interestingly, I went to a reunion last night and the last time I saw these people I was a drinker. A lot of the stories last night involved me doing outrageous things. All the stories were funny because of course these people only saw fun drunk Kenton, they didn’t see the Kenton that continued drinking on her own when she got home and then wanted to die of self loathing and disgust. Anyway, it’s been ages since I’ve had the whole, ‘Kenton, can I get you a drink? Diet Coke? Are you kidding? No, seriously what do you want to drink? Seriously??’ conversation and it was really interesting because in the early days of not drinking I used to feel quite awkward and uncomfortable asking for a Diet Coke when out with my old drinking buddies. But 5 years (almost) of sobriety later and I’m like ‘yep - I don’t drink anymore. I am a sober queen!! Strong, in control, awesome and generally fantastic!’ And they were like, ‘alrighty! I’ll get you a Diet Coke. Good to see you’re still totally bonkers’. And naturally I stayed out until the very end of the night and I had a brilliant laugh with the drinkers and the next time we meet up, there will be more funny stories to remember but I’ll be sober in all of them! Sobriety is like taking all the best bits of being drunk and putting them on repeat play. I love being sober. 24 more please xxxx

It’s slow to get light in the mornings now, which bodes well for my Sunday mornings! Around here, you have to rush on Summer weekends …trying to beat that angry orange globularity rising quickly over your straw hat, relentlessly turning everything brown. We beat a hasty retreat indoors by 9:30 to darkened homes, ‘siesta’, perhaps? Definitely second shower and fresh clothes. Life is mostly indoors, like the dead of winter elsewhere. And after four months it’s beginning to wane! I still need to hurry a little, but it’s getting better like the outdoors will welcome me back in just a couple of weeks. Hiking trails, pictures, fall gardening, birding, grilling, we’re almost there! 💃
24 for me please!
