Kenton some people are so rude! I agree with Suze and Mags. I would let the headmaster know. But if I had a time machine I’d send her back to learn her p’s and q’s
I’m here for another 24 hours sober please. 6.38am.
Trying to wake up....

9:14 pm in California and checking in for another 24. Tomorrow is the first day of fall, I hope it brings cooler weather soon. Fall is the season I miss the most in NY. I will need to figure out some sort of fall getaway with the kids to enjoy crisp air and changing leaves.
Trying so hard to live my life according to this saying.... 'Expect nothing, accept everything' ... but it's not easy.
I have to work back in the office three days a week now... the other days, I'm allowed to work from home. So, earlier today I'm working in the office and it's really busy and everyone is working really hard because we all know we're lucky to still have our jobs. Anyway, I take a moment's break to check my phone and there's about 8 missed calls from one of my children's schools. I listen to the messages and a woman from the school is demanding that I phone her back immediately .. she keeps using the word 'urgent' a scary number of times. So, I phone the school and this woman says, 'where have you been? I've been trying to call you for 20 minutes'. And I say, 'I'm at work. What's the problem?' And she says, '(my daughter's name) is complaining of having a headache and according to our school policy, parents need to collect sick children from school 15 minutes from when we phone which means you need to collect her 5 minutes ago'. And I say, 'What?? I'm at work. I need to get on the tube to get back and then drive from the station to the school. How can I get there 5 minutes ago? I don't have a time machine. Believe me, if I had a time machine, I wouldn't be hanging around in 2020. And incidentally, have you called my husband? The school has his number too. Why are you just calling me?' And she says, 'no I haven't called your husband, I'm calling you. You need to get here now!' So, then I call my husband but he's fixing a boiler miles away so I have to go to my boss and explain the situation and I can tell he's really annoyed so I tell him I'll come back into the office tomorrow even though that's when I'm supposed to be working from home. And then I rush to the tube station and get to the school as quickly as I can and when I get there I rush into the reception area of the school and tell the receptionist who I am and she then answers the phone and makes me wait there for ages whilst she chats on the phone for ages.... laughing and joking before she finally calls through to the medical room. My daughter then appears, looking fine, together with this angry looking woman who tells me I need to answer my phone immediately and be at the school within 15 minutes on any future occasions. I think about telling her that isn't always possible but decide I can't be bothered. The priority is obviously my daughter and I'm not disputing she has headache and is a little poorly but thankfully, she seems ok. And so now I'm worrying about my job. And I'm also a bit annoyed about the way I was spoken to by the woman at the school .... but yes, ' expect nothing and accept everything'. Not always easy. Lots of love to everyone and 24 more for me please xxx

I hope she is feeling better, and I hope things go well at work tomorrow.
