Class of July 2020 Part 3
Morning everyone on the new July thread (thanks Dee74).
Day 35 for me today – five weeks and still sober. Had my first AV yesterday since giving up, while queuing in a shop to buy some milk. It completely came out of nowhere and took me somewhat by surprise. Managed to get out of the shop sharpish to avoid serious temptation. Having read SR I knew not to take anything for granted during sobriety so I was at least expecting it at some point.
Congrats Willow68 on 7 weeks.

Hey, where’s everyone gone? Even redcardid is due for a check-in.
Well done for hanging around owen (hope you weren’t inadvertently served a brandy pudding today), Willow, copperfield, Max, SirF, Robbie, Kaptn, itsmeagain, C&GY, Scott and everyone else I missed.

Hope you are doing well my friend
Yeah you get used to it Owen....I know I was all sorts of put out by the alcohol in so many food items when I got sober....pate, chocolate mousse, things I loved but could no longer eat. Tiramisu. So many more things.
Beer-battered is everywhere. No clue why.....a lot of the time the alcohol cooks off and there is no risk, BUT, I do not do it ever.
Once by accident after I moved here with chocolate cake (really, they need to put rum in chocolate cake??). I was upset for three days. And angry like you were the other day...but people just don't think. Suffice to say I make most of the food I eat these days unless I can find a harmless burger. (Not easy for me in America as I don't eat American cheese, most of the bred and I am allergic to garlic ).
