Thanks Suze for always remembering our milestones. Massive congratulations to everyone celebrating milestones today... 3 and a half years CK!!! Fantastic.
Hard to believe I haven't had a drop of alcohol for 3 years and 7 months. A lot has happened in that time. Sometimes I like to think about all the stuff that HASN'T happened in that time. For the last 3 years and 7 months, I have had ….
no hangovers
no black outs
no mysterious bruises
no trying to piece together snatches of memory
no disapproving looks (ok, I've had a few of these but a lot less than usual)
no trying to moderate
no failing to moderate
no justifying why I can't possibly be alcoholic
no comparing myself to other alcoholics
no searching on the internet 'am I alcoholic?'
no waking up on the sofa surrounded by empty bottles
no hiding empty bottles
no sickness
no bloodshot eyes
no puffy face
no hangover-related excuses, snappiness, tears, anger
no pretending to remember things that happened the night before
no squirming uncomfortably at the words, 'how drunk were you last night?'
no losing my purse/phone/bag/mind/pride
no self-loathing
no shame
no regrets
Love being sober. Probably don't say that enough. Love you all and 24 more for me please xxx

Thank you for the kind words everyone.. Day 14 draws to a close and I’m grateful to see it out with a clear mind and tired body ☺️
The strongest things to pass my lips today have been coffee and Ibuprofen to ease my aching back.
No substances, no alcohol, no prescription meds.
Feeling pretty good if I’m honest. It’s about finding the good in each moment rather than getting bound up in the things I’m not quite so happy about.
Grateful for another day of sobriety. Grateful for the hot bath I’m currently soaking in, and the comfy bed I’ll be getting into.
Grateful that you kind folks are here to listen to my mediocre musings as well!
Be kind to each other
James
