Hi Sam.....yeah what the??? Summer directly to Winter....so hard for me....sure, hard for lots of people but sheesh......from way too hot overnight to no clue if all of my plants are still alive after the frost and freeze.

Someone said to me in a message last night: we can do hard things.
I guess we can, and maybe I forgot....and maybe it's important to keep trying no matter how difficult some things are.....

Yes. And sorry.....just thinking out loud.

Love and good morning and goodnight D and PJ and Mish. s

Good morning!

I had all 3 granddaughters Friday night for the first time ever. This is pretty big. I am so grateful to this place for giving me the strength to get my life back.

Have an awesome day and evening guys!

Wow Bobbie darling......that is kind of huge.

Just wow.....and you know......with other people in our age group, someone would be saying: Oh, I bet that knocked you out and you won't be offering to look after all 3 in a hurry again......or I bet you were glad to give them back to their parents....

But no. Not a chance. We are sober and thrilled to be able to do these things...well, I know you are....and last I saw your grandbabies are the cutest kids on the planet. Their parents are lucky you gave them back.

EDIT: My age group.....I think I am older than you.

I forget too. We absolutely can do hard things. And I appreciate the reminder today.

And it’s so so nice to “see” you Sam!

well done Purps!

Good to see you Sam!

Sounds like a nice weekend Bobbie!

I have some beachfront property available in Arizona PJ. You know, if you're interested. It's dirt cheap.

Hi MITA, Suze, Dee and everyone I've missed.

Wishing you strength in the realization that alcohol isn’t something to miss.

Sleep well Purp. As Scarlett O’Hara said “After all....tomorraw is anothu day!” <<Cue sweeping music signaling you’ve just finished a 3.5 hour movie>>

Thank you!

i was watching “darkest hour” again last night. It’s the movie about Winston Churchill starring Gary Oldham. Really inspiring to me lately. At the start of WW 2 and the Germans seemed invincible....Churchill and the people decide they’d rather fight than roll over tamely.

Courage. The fight. It’s hard. Every day. But there’s something very inspiring about not rolling over and letting <<<whatever the challenge>>> win.

He’d rather go down fighting than go down in fear. That even if a fight were lost, they’d fight from the fields...from the oceans....for their homelands.

And yes it’s hard. But speaking for myself...I might win. And I’d like win, but either way, I’d like to be like Churchill.

tomorrow: surgeon at 11 am to decide lumpectomy and radiation vs mastectomy. Still on the fence but either way....courage.

good night all. Sorry for all the typos. I miss the desktop version of this forum.

On my phone, too. Missing the old version. Oh well, I’ll figure it out - or not

Lillian, that’s a great movie (Darkest Hour). I’m confident you will win!!

Hey Sam - missed you!

Bobbie, congrats on the gaggle of grandkids

13th, always good to have you here.

Hi to all the rest of you - things have picked up here in our thread after a quiet weekend, so that is awesome.

I’ve had a good but exhausting day. It’s just 10pm here and I can barely read what I’m typing. Have a great night everyone!

I have a song I often listen to on my way to faceoff my doubts in another challenging day at art school.

Eskimo Joe's 'Carry on', on the Black fingernails/red wine album. Courage for me is persistence, breathe- take another breath- back into it..over and over and.....
any and every new experience for me now- is productive and causes me to grow cognitively (dunno so much about the ol' emotions..)and even the worst day...is a goods day- because I am still trying and not drinking.

Which is where SR helps..with all you swell guys.

HEY SAM AND PURP!

Feeling very loving right now.....love you guys really.
And feeling empowered.....and strong!

"...we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender!...."

Winston Churchill, June 4 1940.

Having phone access issues as well. It's older so I guess that makes sense, but I can't even access the site when mobile. Tedious since the update. Oh well.
