Then he put the cards into different piles and then he said he was going to spell out my card . He spelt out my card which was the nine of diamonds and then BAM the very next card after he had spelt out my card was the nine of diamonds!!! So I don't know how he knew what my card was... how he could reveal my card when my card was mixed up in the deck but perhaps the most extraordinary part of all of it is that this kid has really significant dyslexia but somehow he managed to spell out my card!!! Dear Beginning Soul,

It's a brand new year. And today is a brand new day.

All of our old ones are gone...they really are...there's no going back. And why would you want to go back anyway?

Today we get to bring every single thing with us that we have ever learned in all of our lives.....if we choose to.

We get to bring the memories that we want to bring with us, we get to bring our skills and our knowledge.

We get to bring the relationships that are part of our lives right now that we want to bring with us.

Yes...we get to bring things with us into this brand new first day of a brand new year...but what is such a miracle is that right in front of us is a clean and fresh 24 hours, just waiting for us to make the most of it. We get to make it into whatever we want to make it into (of course there will be some surprises too).

We get to begin TODAY. Tomorrow is there waiting too..but if we miss out on today, it's going to be behind us just like all of the other yesterdays. So....let's make the most of it. It is our greatest gift.

Unclasp your hands, beloved. Let go of yesterday so that you can take hold of today. It is going to be so good.
