24 Hour Recovery Connection Part 313
Oxford- welcome. Not drinking will help settle financial worries. When I consider that amount of moolah I sepnt every day... Keep posting.
BK- prayers.
Weev- I think that every one in AA have to find their own path. II know someone who has adapted the step stuff to their buddhist beliefs. Another who thinks their 'higher power' is the group itself. It is a way of understanding something undefinable. The fundamental truth for me- is I cannot drink, I am powerless. There is strength in that. I would not be running a meeting if I did not get anything out of it. Like you- I learn and respect. I listen, grow and v---e---r---y slowly, gain patience.

Good Morning Everyone. Hope you are all well.
I thought I would just pop back, one last time, as I feel when I left I didn't show as much gratitude for SR , as maybe I should have.
Today is all about gratitude. Remembrance Sunday.. Wherever veterans are from around the World....from whatever war or conflict.. we are only here today, on this Site, on this thread, enjoying freedom of speech, because of them.
I also owe SR a lot. There are some fantastic people on here.. brilliant information, and lots of love and support. The people that have helped and supported me , I'd like to say a HUGE thank you. You know who you are. Without you , I could not have started racking up days, let alone months.
I am proud of and will always stand by my Atheist beliefs, just as I know my friends on SR will stand by their faith. .. Whatever it takes to keep us all sober. Tolerance is one of the many things we have to be grateful for , especially today. Religion ( or politics) apparently does not have a place in Recovery threads. Yet whatever we believe, or do not believe, is crucial to us finding ourselves again.
I think i'll stick with my " Humour is Everything " mantra.
I'd like to send so much love and best wishes to everyone on this thread. And many, many thanks. .
You guys rock.
Love.. Hayley. xx
