I tried so hard to fight it. Drank my tea, allowed myself more food than on my diet plan. It just didn't work. I didn't want to be here alone with the kids and I knew binging was a way out. I hate it so much.

I haven't posted in a while as I've been away on holiday, but I'm still sober and will gladly take another 24 hours.

But you didn't drink Sunflowerlife! And that's amazing. I think having some time to yourself later is a great idea. Stay strong

Sunday morning of a hangover-free, 4-day weekend. The coffee is delicious. Going to spend time with my family later today barbecuing out in the country. I am feeling so grateful for the time off, especially having no desire to drink! I really don't ever want to drink again. This life is so much easier. 24 more please!

Love y'all,

Red

Also, Sunflowerlife, have you ever tried mindfulness? I've only recently started doing it and was really sceptical at first but it really seems to work.

Whenever the kids start screaming too much or the house looks too much of a mess (which let's face it is pretty much all the time) I listen to a 10 minute meditation on youtube. One of my kids has got really into it and she listens to them with me. Something about taking a few minutes to focus on this minute right now seems to quiet all the panic inside my mind. I'd definitely recommend trying it if you haven't already. Hope your day is going well Sunflower, I'm thinking of you xxx

Checking in for another 24 on this beautiful Sunday morning. Sun is shining and I woke up hangover-free!! I love that feeling.

Congrats to Kenton and Canadian Koala on reaching awesome milestones! And to anyone else reaching a milestone today!

Sunflowerlife... stay strong. Having some "me time" sounds like a wonderful idea.

Hope everyone has a safe and sober day!! Love you all.

SFL- life stuff means finding balance (except addiction). A mind used to isolating and drinking alone. A body used to 2 states- having alcohol and getting alcohol. A balance is seeking other things to occupy the mind, ways to heal the body. Eating is good. Many crave sugar- I did and still do. It is better than drinking in the short term. The short term is months. Others will gamble, take to sex- working 18 hour days .... Eating is okay. It takes time. Time to heal. Do not give into shame. We do enough of that anyway. Keep posting.

From this day on, when I look back on the past,
I will smile and say to myself “I never thought I could do it... But I did…"

6:05am in Alberta, today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

Another 24 for me and everyone else who needs them please, and thanks...
