Thought for the Day

I don't believe that A.A. works because I read it in a book or because I hear people say so. I believe it because I see people getting sober and staying sober. An actual demonstration is what convinces me. When I see the change in people, I can't help believing that A.A. works. We could listen to talk about A.A. all day and still not believe it, but when we see it work, we have to believe it. Seeing is believing. Do I see A.A. work every day?

Meditation for the Day

Try saying: "God bless her (or him)" of anyone who is in disharmony with you. Also say it of those who are in trouble through their own fault. Say it, willing that showers of blessings may fall upon them. Let God do the blessing. Leave to God the necessary correcting or disciplining. You should only desire blessing for them. Leave God's work to God. Occupy yourself with the task that He gives you to do. God's blessing will also break down all your own difficulties and build up all your successes.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may use God's goodness so that it will be a blessing to others. I pray that I may accept God's blessing so that I will have harmony, beauty, joy, and happiness.

I will leave for awhile I'm in a place that is no positive for the people here that are trying harder. Still sad broken heart . Angry I noticed yesterday I start yelling at my daughter. Losing my friendship it is taking it toll. And I feel guilty for breaking someone's heart life is good and a bitch at the same time.

24 more for this alcoholic that is grateful and trying.
I hope that you don't mean leaving us, dear erfra.

You ARE trying hard.

Look to the beauty and goodness that you bring to us every day.

Please.

Congratulations to Madbird!!

I have another trip this week and I'm dreading the plane ride and hotel stay.
My regular routine at home is really comforting right now but someone is counting on me so I must go. This is a week when one of the AA sayings hits home - 'Suit up and show up'.
I successfully navigated four trips this year but this is the first hotel with a mini-bar so I requested to have it removed during our stay. No need for that temptation!

Hugs, peace, strength, prayers and love to all.....xxxx
So good that you made that request, bandi

Stay close to us. We are here for you.

Yesterday I had to install a new clothes dryer which included hooking up the new dryer vent. Two trips to the hardware store and, having to crawl under the house three times the task was completed. When I was was done the serenity prayer had to be recited............because it certainly wasn't being recited when I was doing it.

With that said I'm in for another 24 hours of sobriety. My prayers and thoughts for all of you. Especially Kris, Jo, Red, Dane, Erfra and, anyone I may have forgotten!

Getting mixed up and forgetting where I'm up to etc etc. Made worse by forgetting my glasses so I couldn't see properly either......then started panicking that I'm losing my mind! God this is still a bad place to be guys. Perhaps I have gone back to work too soon (I'm on day 7 but have had it rough). Just wanted a little reassurance that this is perhaps to be expected.........plus I'm still not eating or sleeping very well so that won't be helping. But I am sober so that the main thing. Love to all. Jo xxx
Those early times can be so rough - for so many of us. It is normal but the really good news is that it will get better with time.

You mentioned an anti-anxiety med; not sure what type you are on but some take a couple of weeks or so to become effective. You may want to ask your doc about when you should see an improvement.

Focus was very difficult for me at first, too. Focusing was a huge effort. It, too, greatly improved with time.

Sending you love. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hope you can take some time for a long, warm bath tonight.
