I've seen quite a lot of footage from 9/11 today. 15 years has gone fast for me!
As the day draws to a close here, I'm having a few moments of quiet reflection and contemplation.
Thoughts are with the people who lost loved ones in those awful few hours. All those poor souls gone. I can't begin to imagine how it must have been for them.
Today I am grateful for those things I have taken for granted without thinking;
My beautiful children and partner, reasonable health (which I almost certainly don't deserve), the roof over our heads and the food in the pantry, the cocoa I'm about to drink which I haven't had since I was a little boy and my Grandma used to make me one at bedtime and bring it to me when she tucked me in.
Today wasn't easy. I got through though, and I can and will do it tomorrow.
One thing made me smile today, silly as it was.. At my son's rugby clubhouse there's a sign near the BBQ : "If you can't smell burning, it must be salad".
Glad of SR tonight, 10 weeks sober tomorrow and quite proud of that...

Hi,
Today is my Mom's birthday. We see each other next month, going on our 4 Day cruise. Obviously we could never have known about my nephews death back when we booked this cruise. But, here we are, and I'm grateful we'll have time together.
