24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 147
Well done to the milestoners ! Whatever calamity happens in the world around us, whether it affects us directly or indirectly, lets all pray and protect our oasis of sobriety and ensure it is impervious !
We had a large dinner party last night with over 30 guests. Of course, there was a lot of wine that freely flowed during the night. In my earlier days of sobriety I would be fascinated by how normal folks drank. Nowadays, it doesnt really register until the end of the night when I reflect on the fact that the majority of folks seem to drink sensibly. Of course, my age group is a big influence given that middle aged folks do drink less anyway. There were still a few outliers and I did notice how their speech and physical movements became impaired as the evening went on. But, nothing major and all went home with dignity intact ! Unlike me during my active days when I would have passed out well before the night ended. I ma so grateful that I dont miss drinking at all. Oh and the bonus is that I didnt get asked why I dont drink.
Another 24 hours of patience, wisdom and sobriety pls ! Its 10:57am here !

9:50 am check in. Up early but making food for a cook out today. At two weeks I'm a little surprised at how easy this has been this time. I guess I was just really ready.
I had three glasses of wine over a two week period prior to this two weeks.- if not for those I would be at my first 30 today. I wish that was the case but I guess I had to just teach myself a lesson in the futility of drinking at all! Stupid AV!
Congrats to all the milestoners and welcome to those who are trying to start a new sobriety/recovery. We can do this.......but it's so much easier if you're not alone! And no one is on SR!
