24-Hour Recovery Connections Part 134
Hello SR!
5:15 pm and checking in for another 24 hours of freedom-
Sitting in one of my favorite restaurants waiting for a to-go order (long day at work & too tired to cook!) and I'm happy to report that I'm drinking WATER!
Congratulations to today's celebrants!

I haven't signed in for a few days......been support for my sponsor who lost her father after a long illness. What a gift to be able to observe her as she goes through this trying time........still attending meetings and being of service to others.
Signing up for 24 hours drink and drug free. 10:42am in Jacksonville, Florida.

Strange AA meeting last night. One person from the rehab shared their story and was cracking jokes and making the other clinic patients laugh at his misfortunes which weren't particularly serious. I didnt find his share funny and was annoyed at how this person was making light of his addiction. Then I reflected and wondered if I was being too serious ? I mean, humour does alleviate the suffering. Then I looked around the room and noticed that none of the AA members looked amused, at all. Another AA member shared that sentiment that addiction shouldn't be taken lightly when one is still active. I guess that is what I felt as well. Addiction in itself isnt a joke. We can laugh at ourselves when in recovery but as long as we keep it in context that we are dealing with a deadly affliction.
Another 24 hours of patience, gratitude and sobriety pls ! its 9:59am here !
