Thanks for making the Menlo park connection
To doityourself58: I lived near Flood Park on Hedge Road. I am hoping the park is still there as it was such a great place to gather, swim and have barbeques. My family left Menlo Park in 1962 as my Dad was promoted to a bigger job in Phoenix. I didn't care for the heat there but really liked the desert.

Ok now I have two songs stuck in my head at the same time:
"every chingalingaling that they started to sing so fine
when you come back around after painting the town
some can even make me cry"
over and over in my head.

To DaneK: I found the prisoners to be much more polite and welcoming than I expected. It was a very humbling experience. The food was so bad that I wished I could bring in some food to some of guys. This was in the 80's when things were different. We did have to go thru a clearance to be allowed in. Nice that you brought a meeting to people who really appreciated your input, I'm sure. Congrats!
Love love love The Carpenters; no idea what the second song is!
But that's ok, because it's all suddenly been replaced by "some people want to fill the world with silly love songs'
