Today we are covering the vulnerable Peppermint Goby (Coryphopterus lipernes). A decline of over 30% is predicted over the next ten years mostly because of two factors: predation by the invasive Lionfish and a decline in coral reef habitats. Half of its range is contained entirely within the Florida Keys National Sanctuary. However, there continues to be coral reef decline. Given this species inhabits coral reefs in fairly deep water, coral reef decline is very much a concern for this species. An interesting fact about this type of fish, is that it is less than an inch long.

Strat, thanks for keeping the list. Always sad to read about threatened species though, It's a shame that we humans are destroying our own habitat in the process of our evolution...

Hi everyone!
I just got off the phone with Kris and I thought I would share. For those of you who do not know she had knee replacement surgery last week and a couple days ago. She is safe and sound. I told her of your kind thoughts and she asked me to let you all know she is well. She is recovering in rehab (a new kind of rehab, haha). She is expected to be there for the next couple weeks. She is in high spirits and rehab is going well
I told her she was very well missed and it showed here. She said we made her day Keep the prayers and thoughts going my friends. In honor of Kris, TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!!!
