24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 67
Lovely quote and image again venus
Whew, it's been an emotional week here on the board. The juice that is life is sometimes bitter. Hugs to my friends grieving loved ones. I wish you peace and comfort.
An interesting quote today:
"The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried." I couldn't find who to attribute it to. Apologies.
I read once that it takes 10,000 hours to master a new skill. 10,000 hours! Thats 2.5 years (nearly) of 12-hours-a-day focus and commitment to the skill that you're working on.
I guess this can work for or against you depending on which 'skill' you may be learning. Lets see, for the last 2.5 years I've been drifting along without any real focus on developing a new skill. I've just been surviving; grateful to have made it to the end of the day. That is no life.
That thing I read has allowed me to cut myself some slack for not achieving control of my negative behaviour right away.
I'm learning patience as my skill. What about you?
24 more please. 5.51a.m UK.

I suppose you know that I think of each person on this thread many times a day, and I know that many others do as well. For all of you who have suffered losses, whatever and whenever, I hope that knowing you have the affection and good will of this funny little sober community helps you feel part of something, and not apart from something
