So true Dee. But, the casual banter is good for a min, right? This does seem to resemble more of a talk show to me most days, when I look. Glad everyone is doing well here.

I thought I'd add to what has been discussed regarding the postings of late. Regarding the "banter" people brought up: on the plus side, it shows a group comfortable with each other- which is important in a forum such as this one where we often end up sharing so much regarding ourselves, our lives, hopes, dreams, failures, successes, etc. On the other hand, the threads have become very clogged lately- mostly with non recovery- related comments.
I'm wondering if personal messages or chat rooms (I think there's one on SR, isn't there?) might be utilized?
SR is invaluable to me. It has allowed me (and many others) to come so far. The last thing I want to do is alienate anyone or say "hey now, no fun and games 'round here." But since it was brought up, I thought I'd share.

I agree with whoever said that everything stops and recovery issues are addressed immediately, we always jump right in and try to help each other out.
I don't mind the banter, I know personally half the time I join in on it, is because I'm sober at home with nothing to do, my class gives me people to socialize with that aren't drinking.
I think it would be a shame if we weren't to do that anymore.
I know for me personally, I stopped going to AA because talking about drinking all the time just made think about drinking, I had to stop going, the way I've kept sober is by just getting on with life, of course recovery is always a topic, its a recovery website, but we have to evolve as well.
Looong day at work, just home, its 1:00 am, the joy of owning a business....
Exam on thurs, other than that, nothing to report! No news is good news

I enjoy thde funnies and it helps me make it through the day
I think we can add some discussion topics though
Thd guy i was rooming with had a recovery meditation of the day book. Wonder kf we can do somsthing like that. Help ojr personal growth as well as flirting and having fun

I will say this then discuss it no further. I am guilty of banter it is nice for me to interact with people and not have the conversation revolve around alcohol. So much of my life does at the moment it can get pretty heavy. That said if I post here it will only be about whatever topic is being discussed.
