It's 6:27 pm on a stormy Sunday evening and I am signing in for 24 more 
I had a busy Christmas with family, (last night there was 15 of us around the dinner table), and I kept forgetting to sign in, but I haven't been drinking either. I hope you all had a holly, jolly Christmas x

it's a beautiful day it's rainy, cold, cloudy I got visitors 3 daughters and 1 grandson, and this is the moments that and I'm grateful for my sobriety and not using others drugs.
like the 12 step to me this is "the joy of living..."
and I'm grateful to SR and the 24 hrs. club because I start my day with a positive charge of energy.

Staying Positive
Some ways in which I try to remain positive include not worrying about the
past or the future. Worry is a useless emotion. It doesn't solve anything.
I have heard it said that the past is history, the future is a mystery, and that
today is a gift... that is why it's called the present!
I also try not to speak negativity into my life. Negativity brings others down and
when I speak it , it tends to follows me where ever I go. I may think it but I will
not speak it. I won't feed into it.
I try to count my Blessings, each and every day.
I try to focus on the good things in my life, no matter how small or seemingly
insignificant.
Having an attitude of gratitude really helps, so I often look back at where I have
been and realize how it could always be worse.
I could be sitting in a jail cell, a psych ward or a detox facility, where I have been a
frequent visitor. I could be that homeless man or woman on the street.
Random acts of kindness. Doing nice things for others also lifts our own spirits.
I try to pass blessings on to others - simple stuff like holding the door open for
strangers, , helping some one carry their groceries to the car. Giving children
quarters at the dollar store. Helping the homeless.
I try not to stay idle. The saying is true that the empty mind is the devil's workshop.
Are we staying positive today?

Dec. 29 1:40 PM in snowy BC. My 3 year old grandson and I plower the driveway with the ATV. My daughter would never have let him on my quad had I been drinking in the past.
So I guess I have a decision to make, Grandson time or liquor time. HMMMM. I will take the grandson time. In for 24 more. Pushing to 49 days or 7 weeks tomorrow midnite. Longest I have gone without a drink in 42 years. Can you imaging the money I have spent on the devil over those years. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. **** that pisses me off.
