Yes, I got it. "This too shall pass" and it already is settling down. My husband had to go in to emergency just now, so I think it's good he's gone for a while. I am going to take my horse out alone. Now, not to worry! I will be on the main trail. With a cell phone.

Loaf looks great - perhaps we will see you on the Food Network in some bake off? Keep up the good work Else - we are all here for you.

I'm really glad you're staying strong and you dumped the pills Else.

Sometimes our partners just don't get it, that's why it's important for us to have some kind of support.

I think JD's suggestion of considering AA or NA is a good one. Real life people close at hand can make a difference.

Your husband may not like it, but this is your life and your recovery.

So we're on speaking terms again. He gets frustrated, too. It can't be easy living with someone as moody as I've been lately. It's so easy to forget the pain of addiction when it starts to be "back when".

I have been making bread like a crazy woman and enjoying it. I will try to send a picture of my latest loaf. A whole wheat molasses boule.
So glad your feeling better, you have been such an inspiration to me! I even have dough rising now! A very easy bread, just flour, water, yeast and salt...rises over night, knead it, shape and let rise again, bake 20 min covered, uncover for 10min..more..great! I understand your anxiety and also understand the comfort of baking bread..
Take care and as we all say,,this to will pass!

Hi, All,

Elseware, good for you for dumping the stash. That took courage.

We are here for you.

Agree, maybe it's time to check out NA or AA?

Also, here is the information I found on Oregon docs who are board-certified in addiction medicine. This link should take you directly to the search results but if it doesn't, simply go to abam.net.

Find a Doctor | American Board of Addiction Medicine

Perhaps it would be helpful for your husband to take part in a conversation that involves another physician. I think I've mentioned on the threads before that I used to work in a non-clinical role for a couple large health care providers. At my previous job, I knew a board-certified addiction medicine specialist who was fantastic. He did a lot of consults with other specialists and is deeply respected.

My thoughts are with you. You are a butterfly. Butterflies need a little time when they emerge from the cocoon.

V.

Oceanlady, when you are on the new reply page, hit the advanced button and go from there. I hit the attach from camera and take a picture with my iPad and off it goes. That's the only way I know how to do it. I think you can set it up to send pictures from your photo library somehow. I haven't looked into that. But it shouldn't be too difficult. Sean could probably tell you or Dee.

Regarding photos my simple understanding is that they have to be uploaded onto the internet somewhere else first. I use Photobucket, but don't recommend it and there are better sites. You then link the photo from there...

You can upload to a site as per the link I posted above, but attachments work too, like Venecia said...too many attachments really slows the loading of threads down tho, so admin prefers a file hosting option where possible

Thanks guys! I will attempt to send some pics!! Don't wait with baited breath! My tech skills are limited!
Brother in law left this AM....thinking how little he drank over the last two weeks here..my guess is not out of support for me ,but historically he has had a cabinet to choose from(free)!!!!

How about Blount - what a game he had?

I believe when we are really serious about quitting and growing we radiate a certain energy. Perhaps in addition to not having the free booze to drink your BIL was also positively affected by your sobriety?

To all my dear and trusty pals,
Without you, I just couldn't say
Where on earth I'd be.
On and on you've heard my howls
The mighty pangs for birthing me.
Here and now I do so pray
You'll cheer and celebrate with glee,
A time I so despaired to see.
For me, it's 4 months gone. This day.
