Thanks for the post Deeker...spot on for where I'm at today. I've been obsessing about a couple things and it's beginning to get me down...a doctors appointment tomorrow, Christmas shopping for the kids, overload at work, being behind on the household chores, etc. I need to just stop thinking and start doing...that's my goal for today.

Today is my Son's 23rd Birthday, I am so blessed that he has forgiven me

There are so many people who come through the 24 Hour Club which is so awesome!!
Some come once or twice a month and some check in everyday. I consider you all
Members. Unfortunately it has become quite a task to track the clean time for every person
that comes through the club.

So from now on in order for me to track your time and post your anniversaries regularly you
would need to check in regularly at least 2x a week to be considered an active member of the club.

Getting Unstuck

I still get stuck some days. Days when I don't want to do anything.

There will always be days when I won’t always be at my best. Nobody is perfect
after all; but, I don’t have to stay stuck in that rut.

It's up to me how long I want to sit in my own Sh**.
And it's really my own fault if I stay in it.

Being a part of life means recognizing when I am not at my best and dragging my
butt out of that bad place I'm in and doing something that will get me back feeling
good about myself. Something productive.

I alone sometimes can not think myself happy in recovery. That committee in my
head will drive me cuckoo sometimes.

See, my thinking is the whole problem, it's what got me drunk and high in the
past.

Though for now being so busy, it seems the obsession to drink and drug has been
lifted for me,

But I still can't always trust my thinking. If this brain justified a drink and drug
in the past then it is pretty likely that it will justify it again if I am not careful.

See when I am just sitting around thinking and not doing, those thoughts are
more likely to slip in there. Especially if I am feeling negative.

But if I think less, stop dwelling and just start doing something, like taking some kind
of action whether it be service work, calling a friend or encouraging others, it helps
me get unstuck and out of that obsession and self-pity that keeps me stuck.

The 24 hour club keeps me pretty busy, and it is all good. It is literally keeping my crazy
mind busy. And I am grateful for it and for all of you.

So Thank You!

Are we stuck today? Are we obsessing or dwelling? Maybe we need to stop thinking
and just start doing!

We have 86,400 seconds in the day to turn it all around or throw it all away.
