Another challenging day, so I need 24 hours more please.
My wifes sisters husband (is that bro in law?) over from interstate so I bought 3 stubbies for him.
He drank one, was tired so had no more. I woudn't have, not too long ago.
No temptations, but could have been, and I gave him the remaining two, to take away, along with a bottle of shiraz that had been laying around for a long time.[/U]

Things I Will Need To Change
Alcohol and drugs were not my only problem.
I had some major thinking and behavioral problems that needed and
still need to be dealt with.
I still struggle with some from time to time and some more than
others.
Like Anger..It gave me the ultimate good reason to say f - it
and go use. I can't afford to be angry anymore.
And Self-Pity...Sometimes I used to like to feel sorry for myself.
I needed you to feel sorry for me so I could justify my actions
and my using and my unproductive life.
Kinda like "If you lived my life you'd drink too" sorta thinking.
I needed all my excuses to act out in another defect and that was
procrastination and laziness. Which is really just a fear of doing
anything else.
Some of us like resentments cuz we think we can justify using drugs
and alcohol over them.
Look what you have done to me. I wouldn't be this way if you didn't
do that to me. Just another
excuse to get messed up.
I was so self centered that I thought by holding onto that resentment
against someone that I was hurting them in some way. Getting back at them.
But you know what? They are really just going on about their life.
So who is it really hurting? Just me. And it's really hurting me if I drink
and use over it.
I used many of these above thoughts and behaviors to continue
drinking and drugging.
A lot of self centered thinking going on.
I have seen what my defects have done to my relationships.
It's not good! I have manipulated many people with them and kept
myself stuck!
If I don't work on getting rid of them I will stay sick and I will probably
drink or drug again.
I don't ever want to use again. I was miserable.
These crazy thinking and behavioral problems have enslaved me! It's
time to get rid of them one at a time.
It's time to grow up!
With God's help and some honesty and willingness it is possible!

Oops I missed my sign in, but still here...only missed because I was busy packing for our weekend vacation which I plan to be sober. I will try to check in, but not sure of the internet access. Will try, but if not i will check in on sunday. Planning for fun with my kids in the sand, sun and lots of fun. These are the memories I want my kids to have (and me too!)
