24 Hour Club Sign Up Sheet Hang With The Winners Club! Part 6
1dayatatyme, i'm sure quitting more than one substance has got to be tough. have you thought about how nice it will be to be free of all of it? yeah withdrawal totally bites, but if you rip that bandaid off you will never have to dread going through it again.
fritz, nice work! you can totally make it through the weekend. do you have friends you can hang out who don't drink? or things you'd like to try that don't involve alcohol? you can do it!
this is wehav2day and i'd like to sign in for another 24 hours. speaking of new things, I started a new hiking group that I hope to get off the ground next week, calling it "Tuesday Night Stomp." TOTALLY would not have done that when drinking. it would have been more like, "Tuesday Night Slurp" or maybe "Tuesday Night? Is it Tuesday Night? Huh?

Hey Everyone we made it to the weekend. Good job you guys r killing it !!
If you slipped up don't quit! I for one will admire your honesty if you just come clean and start again. Please come into SR and ask for help this weekend, go into Newcomers forum and post a thread I need help, talk me out of using, Someone will I promise. Let us know when you sign in here if you need to talk with someone in a private message. We want to help.
Boundaries
It's important to set boundaries in life, especially in early recovery.
I can't fool myself into thinking that I can still go to the old hangouts or run with the same people I drank and used with . If I do I am just setting myself up for failure.
How fun can it be watching other people doing something that I know I will never be able to handle. Why would I want to sit there, it would be misery for me.
It may seem like life will be boring by eliminating that from your life but there will be a day when you will look at those situations or people and wonder
why you found them so appealing in the first place. At least it was that way for me.
I found my friends in the rooms of AA and NA. They were really the same people I hung with out there but they just aren't using anymore.
It's alot easier having fun when you are doing it with others who have the very same goal to stay clean and sober.
So if you haven't chosen a route to recovery please keep coming back to SR. Also AA/NA will always be there.
Or find any support group that meets weekly where everyone's goal in the room is to get clean and sober and learn to live that way. I am sure you can find some in your area online.
If you are looking for some fun here in SR I have found the Interactive word games forum to be fun and a good way to get to know people in a light hearted atmosphere. Here is the link:

Checking out and fought for a sober Thursday @ 12:07AM (does this count as a check in too?). It was hard but I thought it through and really couldn't ignore how terrible I knew I would feel if I drank today. Tomorrow will be the true test for me. No responsibilities and no one to hold me accountable except for this thread.
